This is a haven for musicians who are passionately in to their own music. But this place has been known to be bursting with a lot of blues, this is sometimes claimed to have its own bluesy sound. Jazz in this place is also well known. A lot the virtuoso artist who made names had also played here.

Every Sunday the entire single ladies and gentlemen at Grand Rapids, Michigan find time to have fun and socialize, to celebrate great friends and awesome merrymaking. It is fun to be single. Why? It’s because single people are free, they have no responsibilities and are not motivated to work hard and sweat up for labor because of a mouth to feed and a family to raise.

As a married woman and a mother of a beautiful 7 month old princess, I used to think that being single is a much better lifestyle. What is then a much better lifestyle? Being single or being married with responsibilities? I used to stay up so late at night and be outdoors until the wee hours of the morning. I used to break on my curfews and stay with my boyfriend for a weekend getaway out of town. Being single is care-free life, I buy the things that I want and shamelessly max out on my credit card.

Although I earn a lot more compared to what I used to before, all my money goes to buying for her milk and other necessities. “The Life” came to an end when Maiah came into my life. Times became more valuable and golden as I frantically clear out and manage my daily tasks just so I could hold her more and play with her. No more long nights partying at techno-sounding bars and no more crazy AmEX sword fighting over late dinners with my girlfriends. Lingerie and Beauty Section of malls no longer excites me as I often find myself trooping to Infant toys in my sweats sans makeup.

I do enjoy married life. Nights are spent to the company of the 2 most important persons in my life. My Don and my Maiah.

The Olympics is an event held where countries all over the world participate to stand up for their countries pride. But these medals represent pride of the countries who participate; they do their best to train and show the whole world about their skill and talents. Of course medals are won Gold for the top winner second has silver and third has bronze.

This is the main cause of the Arkansas Senior Olympics it is just one of the groups that has been organize to make events particularly games and form into an Olympics activity specially catered to our elders. They give our elderly an outlet to show that despite their age they still have innate pride and them and this can be showcased in forms of games and sports. They have a lot of games that are shared by its participants; examples are 3 on 3 basketball, archery, bowling, golf, tennis and even weight lifting.

For recreational events they have basketball shooting, daisy air gun, the standing long jump, the one mile mixed relay and many more; all to promote camaraderie between the elderly of the State of Arkansas. Also this is to promote the betterment of the health of our old folks. And to give them time to mingle around and build relationships with each other.

They are governed with a good group of board of directors and executive staffs who help promote the vision and mission of the group. They have Frances Barger who achieved the 2006 Glenn Cunningham Track Award for showing outstanding performance in the track events in national and state games. Actual achievements are actually made by the participants of the Arkansas Senior Olympics. This organization showed a lot of support to our elderly and helps them show that despite their age they still have it.

2009 is indeed the year where the Earth Day celebrations are more visible and more people are focused in making the event a success. Center Valley has a unique offering for all its residents this year. It is once again time to bond and gather together for the Green Show Affair! The Green show Affair is an annual event that caters for the promotion of Earth Day and environmental care and significance. Green Show this year has several unique offerings that would not only excite the spectators but contribute more to their advocacies as well.

The Green Shows includes a lot of offerings and one of them is the Green Music Nights. This event features local bands and artists of the music scene of Center Valley, all gathered to share their talents and join in the festivity. These bands are not just any band but those who are personally handpicked by the organizers because of their unique contributions to the environment. They will sing their newest records which include Song of the Environment and taking care of Mother Earth.

The event will also feature several talented artists that will share their talents in the field of Fine Arts. In the event, galleries will be put up in different medium such as watercolor, acrylic and oil- all artworks depicting planet care.

Kids have a place to for the Green Show. They can attend the free art classes and partake in the instructors’ lessons on making great looking artworks. Moms and Dads will gain a lot of knowledge by attending the “Green is IN” seminar which features healthy options of living green within the family. There will be bazaars that feature recycled materials for everyone to enjoy.

This year will mark the first installment of the biennial Artists of Hawaii 2009. A guest curator will be featured this year who is none other than Laura Hoptman, the senior curator for the New York Museum of Contemporary Art. The event is something that Hawaii residents all look forward to in attending because it will mark again the celebration of the locals’ talents and unique taste of the Arts.

To avoid confusion on what I am about to discuss to you now let me first give you the difference between Modern, Post modern and Contemporary Art as these are three subjects that are oftentimes misused. Contemporary Art depicts the art of the Modern times, it is often confused by Post modern because some claim that we actually live in the Post Modern era already and that any art that comes out during these times should be called as “Post Modern”.

Post modern art is described as the combination of the different Art Styles during the Modern era and these styles includes: Art Nouveau and Art Deco among many others. Post Modern style is always a mixture of two or more style era. Modern Art is described as Art that emerged after the renaissance Period or the Period of “rebirth”. It is oftentimes categorized as the Art created during the 18th to early 19th century. Contemporary Art is used to describe the current trend of Styles during the ongoing era. The term contemporary does not come into existence until the half of 19th century (1950’s) onwards.

Contemporary Hawaiian artists all gather at the Artists Guild to celebrate their talents by showing their creations to spectators and enthusiasts. Expect young and talented artists churning out their fresh minds to create great pieces. Paintings are mostly on display on this exhibit.

At Garden City, Kansas there is an event that caters to the cultural significance of Beef in America. That event is called the Beef Empire Days. It is a full day event where activities, cook offs and contests are held where the central theme circles into this beef-loving state. Beef and meat lovers will surely have fun and eat their hearts’ content at this one of a kind festival extravaganza.

The huge beef mascot is named as Rhoda and she symbolizes the event itself. Rhoda the mascot is electronically made which means that she sways and Moo’s after every few minutes. Enthusiasts and spectators will realize that they are on the right event because of the huge beef mascot displayed at the front. Rhoda is often mistaken for a real cow because of her unique and authentic appeal to the masses.

At the Beef Empire Days, spectators have lots of fun tasting the unique beef cuisines made by local chefs and restaurateurs. Truly it is a day where stomachs are filled and meat lovers have fun eating their favorite beef dishes. At the festival, people will also learn the skills of cooking delectable and mouth watering meat dishes straight from the experts’ cooking prowess. Learn and master the art of culinary expertise and be a master in the kitchen as far as beef recipes is concerned.

A juried show means that judges will be present to judge and score each beef recipe according to the available criterion which is also known by the contestants. At the festival there is also a beef cook off where it will be a juried show. The winning beef recipe will receive a cash prize and a wide recognition where the recipe will be posted online (via internet) for everyone to see.

Sun Fun Festival is an outdoor fest, and it always starts with a colourful parade. Sun Fun Festival is a trademark name owned by Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of commerce. The festival serves as the beginning of summer in South Carolina. Sun Fun Festival is a two day under the sun activities.

Sun Fun is packed with lots of enjoyment, such as live entertainment, celebrity meet and greets, sporting events, the Miss Sun Fun Pageant and much, much more. The best part is that the festival admission is free. Everyone is welcome as long as they are ready to have some sun action.

Locals made some outdoor exhibits , where they could feature their handmade products. People can find the Art in the Park, where people showcase the artist in them. Art in the park displays lots native products. The Corvette Car Show, is also present in sun fun, spectators are given the chance to see their favourite Corvette models and makes. Another is the Family fest by the sea, here families gather up and experience nonstop family friendly activities. Lastly is the H2x racing demonstration, surfers show their tricks while having fun at the beach. Again the best thing above all this is that it free.

The Sun Fun Festival started 1951 in honour of the tourist season in the seaside community. The Festival is free because it promotes tourism, it encourages tourist to witness the beauty of the seaside district. Sun Fun festival is the longest running festival in Myrtle Beach area.

This Festival offers something for everyone. People are united by the sun fun festival may they be black, white, brown, Buddhist, Judaist or Christian as long as you have the approbation for fun you are welcome . Early celebration requires everyone to wear swim wear or they face a fine. This law raised funds and helped the community build their first hospital.

Music is a form of art greatly appreciated by many. It is now taken a lot of forms, rock blues, R & B etc But who does not appreciate improvisation and notes that can make you dance and at the same time relax you. Jazz is a respected and loved style; it is usually played with rolling bass and playing drums, lead by different instruments like saxophone, piano and jazz guitar. It’s basically started and rooted as improvisation. Today it takes a lot of forms.

Jazz appreciation can is a little bit said to be in the intellectual side. But now as it is popularized its listeners have grown. The age is no longer a factor because it can be appreciated by a lot of levels. It can be danced to, it can be singed with or just sit down and let the music relax you.

The stress of a day wont be erased by just a good night sleep, some us want to dance a little, eat good food, and relax your way with wonderful soothing jazz music. Enjoying time after a busy days work can sometimes be a problem for some people. Today most of us want to have a break.

Fishing equipment is called fishing tackle by specialists and hobbyists and it generally refers to rods, lines, hooks, sinkers, spears, lures, bait, reels, nets, and et cetera. The fishing gear that is attached at the end of a line is called terminal tackle

The word tackle referring to fishing equipment comes from ‘takel’ which initially meant the rigging of a ship, that is, the equipment consisting of ropes supporting a ship’s masts and sails. Later, the same word was recorded to have a different meaning, that of apparatus for fishing and that meaning has been preserved ever since.

The most rudimentary fishing equipment consists of a rod, a line, a hook, a lure, a bait and a weight or sinker. The line is a basic string especially made for fishing that is both long, thin and yet strong, so that fish do not notice it. There are various things that an angler asks about when buying a fishing line, such as its resistance, stretch, strength and so on. The line will be selected based on what kind of fish the angler intends to catch.

The sinker or weight, also called a plummet, is really only a weight that helps in casting the hook and the bait as far as possible from the shoreline or from the boat that the fisherman is using. They are often made of lead as their purpose is also to sink and to get the bait closer to the fish in the water as fast as possible. However, lead sinkers have been outlawed in some parts of the world, especially the very small ones, which are often called ’shot’. If eaten by birds or other fish, the lead, which is well-known for its high toxicity, will cause the death of the animal.

Another elementary piece of fishing gear is the hook. This is a device meant for holding the bait and for hooking into the fish’s mouth. It is attached to the line and the fisherman can choose from a pretty wide range of shapes, sizes and materials.

Last but not least, the fishing equipment is not efficient without bait or lure. A lure is a device tied at the end of the line that looks and moves something like the prey of the fish you are after. Its purpose is to catch the attention of the fish with its colour and movement. Artificial flies and sand eels fall into this category. When the fish eats the lure, it gets hooked.

Bait, on the other hand, is the item actually attached to the hook. Bait is usually of two types: animal or foodstuff. ‘Animal’ refers to small fish or other water creatures, insects or crawlers. ‘Foodstuff’ refers to grains, like corn, bread or whatever the angler believes might work.
