A Guide To Becoming An Event Photographer

Event photography is a profession that offers both financial as well as creative satisfaction. Covering live events by clicking attractive photos is what the job is all about. You must be guided by your creative instincts to present the event in the right spirit and in its true grandeur. In the process, a good event photographer creates memories through photographs that will be cherished for years to come.

Most people think that event photographers just land at an event and start clicking. This presumption might be right in the case of new event photographers, but expert ones have several qualities that lead to high quality service to the customers. The first thing that a professional event photographer must be familiar with before capturing an event is what the mood of the event will be like. It is vital to precisely present the essence and the real meaning of the event. For example, capturing a wedding is starkly different from covering a business meet or an athletics event.

As an event photographer, you also should have sound knowledge of your camera, along with awareness about the latest digital processing technology. For instance, the most important component of the camera, its lens, must change as per the nature of the event and its venue arrangements. The photography equipments and their settings change immensely depending on whether the event photography is to be done within the four walls or outdoors and at which hour of the day.

Another factor that cannot be ignored is the lighting at the venue of the event. The aperture settings are decided on the basis of the amount of light that is present at the site. Information about light availability also aids in determining if there is a necessity for an extra flash light or not. Attentiveness also plays an important role in helping you to click all the key shots with excellent accuracy and deftness.

To gain better insight into the realm of photography, it would be helpful to consider books and expert courses on the matter. It is best to acquaint yourself with the technological and finer aspects of event photography before taking on assignments as the probability of repeat assignments are based upon the quality you showed in your previous assignments.

Lastly, dedication to your job and the zeal to excel are extremely important to achieve success in this occupation. Readiness to adapt to any type of situation, attentiveness, and a flexible attitude are the important factors that will help you progress as an event photographer.

Criteria to Consider when Choosing the Right Conveyor Chain for your Application

The universality of the conveyor chain in various applications from moving vehicles down the line in auto production to the movement of sprinklers in agriculture can be seen around the world. Whenever something must be moved from point “A” to point “B” continuously no matter if it is to be assembled, washed, painted, inspected or heading for storage, you will undoubtedly find a conveyor as the basis of the system.

For optimum performance of a conveyor chain, four criteria are crucial – strength, durability, resistance to fatigue and resistance to impact.

The weight in pounds required to break the chain on a linear plane is the measurement that determines the ultimate strength of the chain. The usual method of testing is by use of a tensile testing machine. The minimum strength values for each size of chain are dictated by ANSI. The material of which the chain is made, its manufacturing process, and hardening specifications used in making its components consisting of center link, side link, and pin are controlled by the manufacturer and determines the strength of the chain.

Although the ultimate strength of any given chain will reflect the integrity of a certain material at a certain hardness, a high ultimate value does not necessarily mean that it is impervious to failure. The ultimate strength value is used for application engineering and deciding what type or size of conveyor chain to be used for various loads.

A conveyor chain’s durability value is the most subjective value to consider when comparing chains. Factors affecting it’s durability are lubrication, loads, chain speed, and system design among others. A manufacturer controls only the hardness factor that impacts the other three criteria. It is a fact that the harder the chain the higher its durability factor but along with this comes a lower resistance to fatigue and impact. The harder the chain the less resistance it becomes to fatigue and impact.

There are different base materials that offer some options. For example, standard SAE 1045 steel at a hardness of 370 offers worthy impact and fatigue resistance, a good degree of durability, and meets minimum ANSI strength requirements. If the same material has a hardness of 420 BHN, its strength and durability would be enhanced but some of its resistance to fatigue and impact would be lost. As an alternative, microtuff-15 micro-alloy steel has good wearability and more strength along with excellent impact and fatigue resistance. It also costs the same as SAE 1045.

What fatigue resistance indicates is the material’s capacity to endure continuous bending, twisting and so forth without breaking apart. This is possibly the conveyor chain’s preeminent asset or liability. The quality of fatigue is not readily quantifiable until the material shows signs of fracture. Modern factories have higher rates of production, heavier overall chain loads, more maze-like chain paths with tighter radius turns, and the chain is more apt to undergo more subtle bending and twisting than in years past

While the chain moves around its horizontal turns, the side load between the chain and the rollers or traction wheel makes for a subtle bending motion in the center link of the conveyor chain. This particular movement is the catalyst for fatigue. Should the fatigue go unnoticed and therefore, the chain is not replaced at once, the instance of failure is diminished.

The impact resistance measure of a conveyor determines it’s ability to absorb shock without breaking apart. The harder the material is, the less it is impact resistance. However, there are different materials having the same hardness with variable capabilities of absorbing impact and remaining intact. A chain’s resistance to impact is a factor in many power and free systems.

With loads being stopped and started frequently, the chain, especially the pusher dog, is susceptible to impact failure if it is not manufactured from an impact resistant material. Other potential impact points on a conveyor are the loading and unloading stations. Impact failures, similar to fatigue failures, occur without warning, but unlike fatigue failures, they don’t necessarily multiply.

When choosing a conveyor chain, it is important to consider the above criteria to achieve maximum performance. Using the correct chain for a specific application increases the life of the system, while preventing failure

The core component in Green Tea that has given it its ‘miracle tea’ superiority are catechin polyphenols, distinctively epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). They are however more commonly known to most of us as antioxidants. What differentiates Green Tea as a nutrition tea from Oolong and Black Tea, is that during production Green Tea leaves are steamed, thus preventing the potent EGCG’s from oxidization. However, fermentation is used with Oolong and Black Tea leaves, which converts EGCG’s into other compounds. This fact gives Green Tea its prominence over all other teas.

With 27% catechin polyphenols found in Green Tea, this makes it 100 times more beneficial to you than Vitamin C and 25 times more beneficial than Vitamin E. That is already just one major reason to convert to Green Tea!

Three Key Health Benefits Of Green Tea You Did Not Know, Until Now… 1.EGCG essentially kills cancer cells, at EVERY stage of cancer! This is possible as it inhibits development of tumours, eradicates tumour supporters, deactivates enzymes that give rise to cell production and obstructs chemical carcinogens 2.Moreover, these superb antioxidants lower LDL cholesterol intensity in the blood, by fixing themselves to the cholesterol beads stopping them from becoming fixed to the lining of the arteries for instance. In addition to this, they hinder blood clot formation (Thrombosis), which ensures prevention of heart attacks and strokes. 3.Unpaired electrons that are produced naturally in the body to a quantity are called Free Radicals. Due to their ‘free’ state they cause harm to cell membranes and thus internal structures, permitting maturity of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and are also capable of injuring DNA. 2 Ways To Make A Ben 10 Cake

Ben 10 is a very popular cartoon character these days and lots of kids want a Ben 10 cake for their birthday. You make the cake yourself, without much cake decorating experience, by using an easy technique to copy a picture you select.

If you’re artistic, you can just draw Ben 10 directly on the top of the cake with any kind of icing or piping gel. Not everyone is confident in their drawing skills, so here are a few ways to create an icing image using any picture you want.

If you don’t already have a picture, you can find one by searching Google images. Save the picture you like to your computer. Using the photo editing tool of your choice, turn your picture into a mirror image. (You’re doing this because the picture will be flipped over when it goes on the cake). When you print out your picture, you’ll want it to fit on your cake, leaving room for any writing or border. Size the picture accordingly.

Begin by taping the picture down to your work surface. Use either the back of a cookie pan, a piece of sturdy cardboard, a cutting board, or other sturdy flat surface. Now tape plastic cling wrap over the picture. Make sure the plastic wrap lays smoothly. Secure it with tape in several spots along the edge so it won’t move while you’re working.

Royal Icing Image: Outline the picture in either white or black thick consistency royal icing using the number 2 cake decorating tip. Allow to set for 30 minutes. To the remainder of the royal icing, add water 1 teaspoon at a time until the icing is the consistency of cream. Use food color pastes to create the different colors you need in separate cups or bowls. Place each color in its own decorating bag with a number 4 cake decorating tip attached. Use one color at a time to fill in each area to match the picture. First pipe within the outlined area, going all the way around. Then pipe in a zig zag motion back and forth until the area is filled. Pop any air bubbles with a toothpick. When done, you can place the runout design under a heat lamp to set it quickly. Or, just put it aside to dry. It may need 24 hours or more. When completely dry, carefully remove the cling wrap from the image and invert the image onto the cake.

Ben 10 in Buttercream Icing: You will prepare the same way as above up to the point of placing the cling wrap over your picture. Use the buttercream icing color of your choice to outline the picture with a #2 tip. Make the rest of your colors in buttercream icing and place them each in their own cake decorating bag. Fill in each section of the picture with a number 4 tip. Begin with the smallest details and end with the larger ones. When the whole picture is filled in, use a spatula to spread a nice thick coat of buttercream icing over the entire image. This icing should be the same color as the one on top of your cake. You should also outline the picture with the same color. This way, when you put the buttercream transfer on the cake, it will look like it was decorated directly on to the cake. Set the buttercream transfer in the freezer. When it’s solid, flip it over where you want it on the cake. Peel back the cling wrap.

Either method is relatively easy and will make your Ben 10 cake picture perfect.

A History – Maple Syrup

It is likely that what is being talked about here isn’t the “waffle syrup” or “pancake syrup” that you keep in your cupboard or fridge. Those most likely are just imitations of genuine maple syrup, simply maple-flavored to please your palate.

If you want to invest money in the higher quality plastic boxes, by all means feel free. You definitely get what you pay for and the fancy expensive home party boxes usually last for many years and come with replacement guarantees. I just want to assure people that you don’t have to stock your freezer shelves with designer containers. The only plastic freezer containers I owned for many years were just the inexpensive ones from the grocery store, and they served me well for many years. You can even freeze food items in clean, plastic margarine tubs if that’s all you have, but the seal isn’t really air-tight so don’t freeze these items for longer than two weeks or the quality of the food will suffer.

It’s important to remember that margarine containers are safe to freeze food in (they’re made of food grade plastic), but don’t reheat your meal in them. They’re not microwave-able, and they can seep harmful chemicals into your family’s food. Be sure that a plastic container is labeled “microwave safe” before using it to reheat food. If you have a choice between round or rectangular freezer containers, choose rectangular. These use space more efficiently and take up less room in the freezer.

So, Why Eat Superfoods? When you look at superfoods as a whole new class of edible items (different from traditional foods and herbs), what are they good for? I have found a way to replace most of the multitude of vitamin and mineral tablets I began adding to every meal 40 years ago. When I began integrating superfoods into my diet, I found that I no longer needed to take so many vitamin pills and other supplements in pill or tablet form. What a relief! Hemp Seed is one such superfood. I began taking hemp seed a few years ago as I was looking for a natural source of Vitamin E. The hemp seed is rich in Vitamin E and Omega Fatty Acids, and so much more. This item is listed as a superfood in David’s book.

Aloe Vera is another superfood I take. I was looking for something to normalize my digestive system. Since I am over 60, my various organs need more support. I really was unable to make any significant difference with traditional foods or supplements. When I found I could buy the whole leaf of the aloe, and have it shipped to me, I tried it. The aloe is known to help nourish the liver and pancreas as well as other vital organs. I have found it to be an all-around whole-body food.

It seemed to do something positive for my nervous system when I ate it. This was before it became available as an organic and raw, extra-virgin coconut oil as found today. Was I ever thrilled to find the more wholesome version many years later. AFA (Aphanizomenom flos-aqua) Blue Green Algae – I first came across this particular blue green algae back in the 1990’s when a network marketing company began distributing it. I was looking for a food that would provide more energy and it certainly did just that! Now there are many more versions of this wonderful superfood. More Familiar Superfoods Cacao Beans – which I learned about through the writings and audio tapes of David Wolfe. It took me a while to get the fact that the chocolate that I ate as a child was different from raw chocolate made from the raw cacao beans. Now raw chocolate treats are a very pleasant part of my daily nutrition program. Maca Root – again, this one I owe to David Wolfe. I don’t eat much of it but it definitely helps to balance hormones of the body. Spirulina – I found this one back in the 1980’s. It’s been around for a long time. I first tried to use it as a protein replacement but that just didn’t work for me. I get a lot of value from it now by mixing a quarter teaspoon a day in my breakfast drink. I mainly use it for the array of vitamins and minerals not found in other foods. Spirulina is definitely very stabilizing. So… I hope this helps you to sort through any confusion you’ve run into about superfoods. They really are in a “class” of their own. Evaluate them for yourself and see if you agree.

From the Sugarhouse to Your Serving Dish – Maple Syrup

If you have had any confusion about superfoods, here’s what sorted it out for me. Superfoods really began to take on an identity when David Wolfe began delving into raw food prior to the 21st Century. I found him on the Internet when he and two other partners started telling everyone about raw food and how great it was.

If you want to invest money in the higher quality plastic boxes, by all means feel free. You definitely get what you pay for and the fancy expensive home party boxes usually last for many years and come with replacement guarantees. It all begins with the trees, or more specifically their barks. An incision or hole is made in them, deep enough to let the sap from within flow through spouts or taps which are placed on the hole. The sap is collected in buckets or through piping which leads to sugarhouses or evaporators. In these places, the sap is boiled until it turns into thicker, sweeter syrup.

The boiling sap, upon reaching a temperature of about 219 F (104 C), should have a density of at least 66% sugar, as tested by a hydrometer. The syrup will not be with the ideal sweetness and will quickly spoil if the proper density is not reached, and if it is exceeded the syrup will only crystallize once they are in their bottles.

The Elixirs of Strife – Coffee & Caffeine

Brewing coffee manually produces the best-tasting, purely-brewed coffee anywhere. Because you control the water temperature, the amount of water that hits the grounds, and the length of time the water is in contact with the grounds, your brew will be unmatched with any automatic brewing machine. You will use beans that you grind yourself, using quality coffee beans, to get the best results.

Other coffee machines will allow you to froth your own milk manually to get the perfect result. Various makes such as Gaggia, Capresso, Saeco, Bosch, Siemens, Bodum and many others offer different types of machines that range from manual, to semi automatic onto fully automatic. They vary considerably in price too, with some costing thousands, even for the home.

For most coffee lovers, the biggest hurdle to overcome as you begin to get serious about coffee is the fact that you own an electric drip coffeemaker, and the vast majority of the electric drip brewers sacrifice some of the taste for convenience. If good taste is your ultimate goal, you may want to think of an investment of time rather than dollars. Grinding fresh coffee beans, and measuring coffee precisely, will become second nature after about a week. If you will be going to the trouble of buying fresh, perfectly-roasted coffee beans, then you should brew coffee to get every precious bit of flavor and aroma you are paying for.

A great drip maker combines the essential brewing elements in a specific way. You need a filter that contains a large amount of fresh grounds for each 6 ounces of coffee brewing. The water should be heated to 195-205 degrees F. The water should be allowed to saturate the grounds gently and thoroughly. The total brew cycle, from start to finish, must take from 4 to 6 minutes. If it takes longer than 8 minutes, the coffee will be over-extracted and bitter.

It is almost impossible to brew drip coffee that meets the above criteria using your typical home electric brewer. This is what leads to the frustration so many coffee lovers come across when they try to duplicate good coffee-bar coffee at home. Brewing manually, where you can control the brewing process, is still the absolute best way to get a great cup of coffee.

Each time the water level in the filter lowers, pour more water, until the kettle is completely empty. You will find the pouring process lasts about 4 minutes, which is what you were looking for in the first place. Your fragrant, steaming, and delicious pot of coffee is now ready for you enjoyment!

A History – Maple Syrup

You’ve heard about cooking ahead for the freezer before. You’re convinced the technique will save you money. So, now you’re ready to give cooking for the freezer a try. That’s great! But what on earth do you store all this good food in so your hard earned money doesn’t go to waste? You certainly don’t want to have your food suffer from a bad case of freezer burn… and you also don’t want to break your budget stocking up on expensive freezer boxes. Oh, what’s a Freezer Mama to do? I want to assure you that you don’t need to hold a party and buy expensive plastic boxes. Any food grade plastic will work. The inexpensive plastic boxes at the grocery store function just fine, but make sure you have storage items with tight fitting, air-tight lids.

As time progressed, I kept seeing David introducing foods that were from all over the world. Some he called “superfoods” which was the first time I began hearing that word. Over the last three years, I have seen more and more reference to “superfoods” – both pros and cons. Plus including a lot of our traditional foods in this category. I fell into this same hole, logically associating superfoods with the dictionary definitions of both “super” and “food.” When I realized this wasn’t making sense, I went looking to see what David Wolfe had to say.

It all begins with the trees, or more specifically their barks. An incision or hole is made in them, deep enough to let the sap from within flow through spouts or taps which are placed on the hole. The syrup will not be with the ideal sweetness and will quickly spoil if the proper density is not reached, and if it is exceeded the syrup will only crystallize once they are in their bottles.

I personally use zip-top freezer bags for most of my freezer-meal storage needs. Not only do freezer bags take up less space than boxes, the bags are inexpensive and easy to use. It’s important to buy top quality freezer bags – this isn’t the place to cut back, money-wise. There’s nothing worse for a freezer-meal cook than to have your entire batch of frozen meals ruined by poor wrapping or freezer bags breaking. I recommend double bagging anything with a soupy consistency so you don’t end up with a watery mess at the bottom of your refrigerator after the meal thaws. Sometimes bags can develop small holes, or the zip-top can open slightly.

Maple syrup, however, is not just for pancakes. It can be eaten with waffles, oatmeal, French toast, crumpets, and a number of other desserts. It can even be boiled further to make maple candy (maple taffy or sugar on snow), maple sugar, or maple butter, all of which can give you a whole new dining experience when you add even just a dollop of them on your dishes. So go on, experiment. You know your sweet tooth wants to.

How Maple Syrup is Produced – From Sap to Syrup

It is likely that what is being talked about here isn’t the “waffle syrup” or “pancake syrup” that you keep in your cupboard or fridge. Those most likely are just imitations of genuine maple syrup, simply maple-flavored to please your palate.

I fell into this same hole, logically associating superfoods with the dictionary definitions of both “super” and “food.” When I realized this wasn’t making sense, I went looking to see what David Wolfe had to say.

There’s a definition of sorts in David Wolfe’s book called “Superfoods” and as I read it, all the confusion about this subject fell away. “Superfoods comprise a specific set of edible, incredibly nutritious plants that are not entirely classifiable as foods nor are they entirely classifiable as medicines (such as herbs).” Reference “Superfoods” by David Wolfe To fully grasp this, I highly recommend you get the book so as to get the full idea of what David is saying here.

You can also use disposable aluminum foil pans purchased at the grocery store. These can often be reused several times before needing to be recycled or disposed. Disposable pans are ideal if you’re making meals to use to give to others; the recipient doesn’t need to worry about returning your pan or casserole dish. If clean up is a huge time-consumer, these pans be easily thrown away to make cleanup painless. I’ve built up a good supply of freezer containers by stocking up on bakeware and other freeze-able containers at garage sales and thrift stores. Glass bakeware works fine. When wrapping pans for the freezer, be sure to use good quality, heavy-duty freezer foil.

I personally use zip-top freezer bags for most of my freezer-meal storage needs. Not only do freezer bags take up less space than boxes, the bags are inexpensive and easy to use. It’s important to buy top quality freezer bags – this isn’t the place to cut back, money-wise. The Perfect Wedding Photographs for An Unforgettable Memory

Celebrating a wedding is probably one of the essential events for a person. Capturing the event in photographs will make it even more special. The location, the visitors, and even the food served, can all be immortally saved in photos. Wedding photography and food photography usually go hand in hand, so choosing a person or company to ensure all of these memories are saved can get quite challenging.

Getting a professional wedding and/or food photographer is actually quite easy. There are many things to take into account, but the fundamentals would be to check the person or company’s experience level, photographic style, price range, and even their personality.

It’s really easy to know how great your photographs will turn out by checking the photographer’s portfolio. Their studios usually will display a lot of samples, depending on their specialty. A wedding photographer or company will of course show a lot of pictures from various weddings, an expert food photographer will showcase a lot of different artistic food photos, and so on.

Experience and talent are the key, so check the photographer’s portfolio. Aside from the displays on office walls, photographers usually have “online folios,” an online portfolio. They are just websites that show a couple of their best work on whatever field photographers are best at. For instance, a wedding photographer’s website will display his or her best pictures captured from different weddings: the bride and groom, ceremonies, churches, receptions, and even the food.

Also put into mind how much you will need to spend. It is okay to shell a lot of money for such an occasion because it is a once in a lifetime event, but you should set a limit to how much will be spent. Doing some price comparison research online will give you an idea of the right amount you should spend on a photographer for your wedding or any other occasion. But of course, quality should not be sacrificed. A package can be cheap, but that doesn’t have to mean the pictures will look that way too.

Last, ensure that the photographer is someone trustworthy. He/she should be someone you can easily get along with. You and your photographer should be able to meet eye to eye, else find another.
