Yeast Infection In Pregnancy – Here Are 3 Safe Ways To Treat It
A lot of women panic when they get a yeast infection in pregnancy, they first of all want to get rid of it in a way thats safe for them and the baby and also they want to keep their baby from contracting it when it is born.
It’s a tough situation to have to deal with, but if you find yourself here, there are things you can do which are safe:
1. Eat Yogurt
If you have a yeast infection in pregnancy, one thing you can consider trying is eating yogurt. Yogurt has plenty of healthy bacterial cultures within it that give off hydrogen peroxide. This byproduct just happens to be toxic to yeast.
If you take in enough yogurt, you can help fight off the yeast from the inside out, just make sure that youre eating sugar free yogurt as sugar will only help feed the yeast.
2. Yogurt + Tampon
This is not the only way to use yogurt though, you can also use it vaginally. All you need to do is get the same sugar free yogurt and apply some to a tampon then insert that for around 30-45 minutes.
What will happen is the healthy bacterial cultures will be brought back into your system and get to work fighting off the yeast in your body. Keep doing this on a daily basis for at least 1 or 2 weeks to see the results.
3. Use Tea Tree Oil
This solution is similar to the previous one. What we’re going to do is use olive oil to coat a tampon then put a few drops of tea tree oil on over that.
Once youve done this, insert that again for 30-45 minutes, the oil will work well as an anti-fungal agent and it will help kill off the yeast.
Now if you find yourself with a yeast infection in pregnancy, these remedies will help out a bit, but they will not be a quick or permanent solution. In order to get to the root of the issue here, you need to kill the yeast spores, very few treatments do this.
