ADHD a Curable Problem
If you have seen a child that who seems to be allergic to his chair (he does not stay on it). Or probably you have also seen children who just cant focus on what you are saying or have a short attention.
You might think that it is normal for them because they are children. Well you are wrong; they must probably have a condition called the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or simply, ADHD.
It is characterized by the above descriptions, like having short attention span and hyperactivity. Not all kids have those manifestations. It is not just a mere condition; you have to be aware that it is a psychiatric disorder among children.
It affects mostly children but it has also a tendency to be carried on in to adulthood. Statistics show that in the beginning of the decade from year 2000, there has been a significant increase in the number of cases of ADHD in USA.
ADHD can affect the areas of our brain that is in charge for planning, solving problems, understanding and attention. This can only last for certain number of months, yes in other words, this condition can be treated.
But if you are taking it for granted, it will also manifest until the child becomes adult and for sure it will be another burden. Though this condition is common to children, not all children who manifest the symptoms have ADHD. If the child shows the behaviors in a certain place, it may be due to his reaction to school activities or friends, not from the actual disorder.
ADHD is often shows when a child experiences a sudden change like family problems, death, divorce, hearing problems due to ear infection and school problems.
There are lots of cures for ADHD; one is through medicine which aims mainly on controlling the childs hyperactivity and low attention span. Another is through psychological therapy which may include family therapy, behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy. Some methods also involve some diet changes and EEG biofeedback which also controls impulsive and hyperactivity.
The thing is, ADHD is curable. Be observant with your children and have them checked up if something different is being manifested. it may cause injury if left untreated.
