The plan is that the smells will tempt all of those starving shoppers to spend more and more money.
Sale items are also placed at the end of aisles where impulse buying takes place. These items may or may not be a great deal but they are tactically located so that you don’t pay thought to the sale cost as much as you will just impulsively purchase it because it is there. The more the stores can get you to buy of course the more money they will make. They are in the business to make cash so you can expect them to do all they can to attract you to purchase more.
Many stores and the warehouse stores in particular offer up mouth-watering treats that you can try. They give you a taste and it tastes so good that you end up buying it. There was no plan to buy it but they enticed you by letting you experience it. It is sharp business for them but it does not save you any money at all, in fact it ends up costing you cash.
